Remember Sam Brinton? If you don’t recall the unforgettable face, Brinton was President Biden’s former nuclear waste official, before he was fired after admitting to taking a stranger’s suitcase from the luggage carousel during a work trip in Minnesota, six months ago.

At approximately 10 pm last night in his home in Maryland, Brinton was picked up from his home and was taken to the Montgomery County Detention Center, where he stayed overnight. He was arrested as a ‘fugitive of justice,’ and is currently being held without bond.

According to The Daily Wire, A judge denied Brinton’s request to turn himself in and ordered him extradited to Virginia on grand larceny charges. According to 8 News Now, the grand larceny charges for stealing property have been reported to be between $1,200 and $5,000. It is still unclear if last night’s arrest was in any way correlated to his previous theft arrests.

Previous arrests:

  • Back in February, Brinton was released on no bail for charges in Minnesota relating to alleged luggage robbery.
  • Last April, he entered a plea deal in a luggage robbery case at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.

GOP representatives wrote to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm stating, “We implore you to set aside petty politics and appoint only the most qualified and dedicated individuals to influence America’s energy sector.”

Brinton, who has bragged about participating in kink relationships as a “pup handler” faces up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine if convicted.
