Sources say the official kickoff event launching his campaign will potentially occur the week of Memorial Day with sources citing the Governor’s hometown of Dunedin, Florida as a possible location. At the time of his presidential bid announcement, top donors for DeSantis are projected to gather in Miami next week, where those on his soon-to-be campaign will be in attendance.

A spokesperson for DeSantis declined to comment, while sources warn plans could still be altered, considering DeSantis’ 2024 roll-out timeline has already been pushed forward amidst an onslaught of attacks by former President Trump.

According to sources close to the Governor’s team, they have been establishing an office in Tallahassee and hiring staffers in recent weeks, ramping up the operation.

This past weekend, DeSantis was spotted courting conservative voters in Iowa, saying it was time for the party to find a “positive alternative.”

“If we make the 2024 election a referendum on Joe Biden and his failures, and if we provide a positive alternative for the future of this country, Republicans will win across the board,” DeSantis said as he spoke in Sioux Center. “If we do not do that, if we get distracted, if we focus the election on the past or on other side issues, then I think the Democrats are going to beat us again.”
