Enter the anti fat-shaming advocates.

It was only a matter of time.

While she might be on the heavy side, influencer Jae’lynn Chaney has 100,000 followers on instagram, so she certainly has a voice with some clout.

Chaney says it’s not just to make an overweight person pay for two seats on an airline, claiming it to be “fat-shaming.”

She sent out a tweet that was viewed by half a million people back in April:

Since then, her efforts have only been gaining steam.

To be fair, statistics are on Chaney’s side. Over half of the world wide population are expected to be obese by 2035. So much for ending world hunger…

Chaney might be trying to cut the problem off at the pass as the obesity epidemic explodes. “At the bare minimum, we need every airline to have a policy that tells people of size how to navigate their airline.”

To be fair, airlines have different policies about whether or not an overweight person would have to buy two plane tickets to accommodate for their size.

Chaney, as well as many activists, have called for the abolition of the two ticket policy.

“These passengers should be provided with an extra free seat, or even multiple seats, to accommodate their needs and ensure their comfort and safety, as well as those around them, during the flight,” she said.

And Chaney wants each airline to dramatically overhaul their plane to accommodate plus sized passengers.

She suggested airlines change their seatbelt lengths and create special rows so plus sized people could have more space.

Chaney says the whole thing is a civil rights issue, as no one chooses to be fat.

But well, that whole statement can certainly be argued…
