Diabetic drug, Ozempic and “weight loss” medication Wegovy have become the latest trend in rapid weight loss amongst celebrities and their loyal followers. Stars like the Kardashians and their insane body transformations have led people to believe that they have taken this form of treatment to shed those unwanted pounds.

Elon Musk and Chelsea Handler are amongst some celebrities who have admitted to taking the semaglutide drugs to help them lose weight and get fit.

During his opening monologue at the 95th Oscar Awards, host Jimmy Kimmel added the diabetic medication to his skit when mentioning the objectionable prescription drug used for weight loss saying, “Everybody looks so great. When I look around this room, I can’t help but wonder ‘Is Ozempic right for me?’”

Ozempic is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes and was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2017. The drug’s active ingredient is semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that helps regulate blood sugar levels in the body.

Downsides to the “miracle” weight loss drug? The cost of Ozempic is quite expensive, (roughly $100 per month) with weight loss continuing as long as you take it. Some weight will come back as soon as you stop taking the drug, shrinking not only your waist line but your wallet, too.

The increasingly high demand of Ozempic makes it incredibly difficult for those with Diabetes to get the mediation for necessary and life-saving treatment.

Let us also mention the side effects – potential nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pancreatitis and abdominal pain. It’s also not recommended for pregnant women or people with a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.

What BIG Pharma, Hollywood and the rest of the elites will fail to tell you is that proper diet and exercise will guarantee a better quality of life than any of these “quick” and potentially harmful fixes can do for you.
