Left-wing and centrist media outlets ignored a highly significant report released by a congressional committee led by Jim Jordan on a coordinated effort between social media companies and federal agencies to deliberately censor conservative politicians and journalists in 2020.

The report was released earlier this month by the Selected Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which is chaired by House of Representatives member Jim Jordan (R-OH).

It exposes in great detail how a consortium made up of  Stanford University’s Stanford Internet Observatory (SIO) and American intelligence agencies joined forces to track right-of-center social media posts and submit them to companies like Twitter and Facebook for disciplinary action.

The consortium, called the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), worked directly with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Global Engagement Center, a multi-agency task force within the State Department.

It was created at the request of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in the summer of 2020 “for the federal government to launder its censorship activities in hopes of bypassing both the First Amendment and public scrutiny,” as the report puts it.

The agencies and the Stanford think tank justified their actions in the name of “election integrity” ahead of the 2020 election, often claiming in their messages to social media operators that the posts they flagged constituted election interference.

Among the figures that were directly censored based on requests from bureaucrats involved in this consortium were President Donald Trump, Senator Thom Tillis, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Governor Mike Huckabee, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Fox News host Sean Hannity, satire news site The Babylon Bee, Charlie Kirk, Candace Owens, and James O’Keefe, as well as many other high-profile conservative pundits and even average Americans.

According to AllSides, a news outlet that tracks media bias online, media outlets from the left to the center ignored the report entirely this week. AllSides described this behavior as “bias by omission.”

Despite the fact that Jordan’s X thread received over 100,000 likes, and had been viewed 55 million times within 48 hours (plus 46 million views from Elon Musk’s repost), AllSides could not find any media coverage of the report from a myriad number of outlets it deems “Center,” “Lean Left,” or “Left.”
