The Obama Presidential Center is set to open to the public on Juneteenth after more than a decade of development and a reported cost of about $850 million. Located on Chicago’s South Side, the sprawling 19.3-acre campus reimagines a presidential library as a cultural and community space, featuring museum exhibits, public gardens, recreational facilities, and a new library branch. The design highlights the legacy of former President Barack Obama while incorporating large-scale contemporary art and panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the surrounding city.
