  • The Palestinian death toll has crossed 9,000.
  • Israel carried out an airstrike of the Jabalia refugee camp and hospital in northern Gaza on Tuesday, leading to the deaths of more than 50 Palestinians and the injuries of 150 others. Israel struck the camp again on Wednesday. The UN claims 116,000 refugees are registered there. Gaza officials claim the attacks killed 195 with 120 missing, according to the latest report.
  • Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly said a ceasefire is out of the question, as is any humanitarian pause.
  • Hamas spokesman Ghazi Hamad said attacks like Oct. 7 will occur “again and again” until Israel wiped out of existence.
  • Critics are saying the U.S. should share some blame for the failure to predict the Oct. 7 attacks, as American intelligence agencies stopped spying on Gaza after 9/11 began to rely solely on Israeli surveillance.
  • Israel bombed a group of civilians in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza, 100 meters from al-Quds Hospital, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
  • There has been more crossfire along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, with both Hezbollah and Israel launching rockets at each other.
  • Communications and internet services are slowly being restored to Gaza, according to major comms provider Paltel.
  • 130 Palestinians have been killed in violent attacks and raids carried out by Israelis in the West Bank.
  • Five hostages taken by Hamas have been freed.
  • The Israeli military is still not being clear if the ground invasion has officially commenced.
  • Bolivia, Chile, and Colombia are taking diplomatic measures to oppose Israel.
  • Humanitarian NGO Amnesty International is claiming Israeli forces wounded southern Lebanese civilians with white phosphorus, an illegal action according to international law.

Culture War updates:

  • U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has his Senate testimony on the Israel war repeatedly interrupted by pro-Palestinian protestors from activist group CODEPINK who chanted for a ceasefire. Protestors in the U.K. also demanded Prime Minister Rishi Sunak call for a ceasefire, who refused to do so.
  • Tens of thousands of Palestine supporters across the world marched and held demonstrations in protest of Israel over the weekend as the country pursued its ground invasion of Gaza.
  • More and more celebrities with bigger and bigger followngs are breaking precedent by condemning Israel’s actions, such as Angelina Jolie who condemned the Jabalia refugee camp strike.
  • A riotous mob of Muslims in Dagestan swarmed an airplane that had arrived from Tel Aviv, Israel, threatening Jews and waving Palestinian flags. More than 20 people were injured and over 80 perpetrators were detained. Five individuals have received jail sentences thus far.
  • A pro-Palestine activist released a box full of live mice into a McDonald’s in Birmingham, England in the mistaken belief that the entire corporation voiced its support for Israel (only the Israel franchisee did). He called on others to protest Starbucks and Disney due to their alleged support for Israel.
  • The President of Columbia University in New York stood with Palestinian supporters on campus and defended their right to protest without being harassed.
