Lisa Marie Presley will be buried at Graceland. Presley is the only child of Elvis Presley. She died Thursday, Jan 12th, after being rushed to the hospital for cardiac arrest. Presley was 54.
The news comes as a sudden shock. Presley was recently seen days ago at the Golden Globe Awards to witness actor Austin Butler win a Globe for his portrayal of her father, Elvis Presley, in the biopic, “Elvis.” Days before that, Presley was in Memphis, Tennessee, at Graceland to celebrate what would have been her father’s 88th birthday. After hearing of her death, many fans have flocked to Graceland to pay their respects. Fans were seen laying flowers and writing messages on the stone wall at Graceland.
The famous mansion is also the grave site for the Presley family and is where Lisa Marie’s final resting place will be. She will be laid next to her son, Benjamin Keough. Keough died in 2020 after committing suicide. Presley’s last post on Twitter was an essay she wrote for National Grief Awareness Day in honor of her late son.
Lisa Marie Presley kept the ownership of the mansion, the 13 acres around it, and the items inside the home after selling off the rest of the Elvis Presley Trust in 2005. The estate will now go to her three remaining children. There has yet to be an announcement of funeral arrangements and if the public will be allowed to attend.
