ESPN reports that NBA player Klay Thompson will be joining the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50 million deal without a player option. The multi-team sign-and-trade will bring an end to his time with the Golden State Warriors, and will also send Mavericks guard Josh Green to Charlotte.

This is according to reporter Adriana Wojnarowski, who spoke to sources familiar with the matter.

According to ESPN, the Mavericks and the Warriors are still ironing out the details of the proposal, which will also see the Hornets sending the Mavericks two second-round picks for Green. One of those picks could be sent to Golden State, they added. Thompson was offered four-year deals with a larger monetary compensation, but was more enticed by the chance to win a fifth championship with the Mavericks (as well as a better tax code in Texas).

Thompson (34), a five-time all-star, is considered one of the greater shooters in basketball history, forming the most consistent shooting backcourt in history with Stephen Curry. He played on all four NBA title teams for Golden State. He was the second-longest tenured player on the Warriors, behind Curry.
