They say all press is good press…but that hasn’t been the case for Planet Fitness in the past month. The popular gym franchise has found itself smack dab in the middle of the trans debate, which has caused the company to have a transition of its own…namely a transition from being profitable to losing $400 million in value.
This avalanche of negative press began all the way out in Fairbanks, AK.
Patricia Silva, an elderly gymgoer, went nuts after she found a very obvious biological man shaving in the women’s locker room. Silva took a photo and sought out a manager to voice her concerns—a move that required more balls than any trans-man could show to a bathroom full of women.

Unfortunately for Ms. Silva, her gym seems to be run by liberals with hair as purple as Planet Fitness’ signature equipment.
Instead of compassion, her membership was revoked and she was roundly shamed by the staff. This came as something of a surprise given how difficult it is to cancel a Planet Fitness membership yourself.
Turns out, if you just break one of their woke morality clauses, they’ll gladly do the heavy lifting for you!
For most, the story would end there…but Patricia Silva is no average gymgoer. She took her hairy tale to the press and went PUBLIC about her experience. That’s when patriots took notice and decided to give Planet Fitness the Bud Light treatment.
The backlash is understandable in today’s climate, but oddly enough, PF had already taken a very early position on the bathroom debate which went relatively unnoticed for almost a decade.
Apparently the gym’s “Judgment Free Zone” has been a trans-inclusive space since March 2015. The policy states that “members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity.”
Planet Fitness has always marched to the beat of its own drum. The fitness industry generally pushes exercise, goal setting, and working hard. This goes hand-in-hand with eating healthy as you overcome obstacles. Planet Fitness has taken a contrarian approach to all of that.
If you’ve never been, on any particular day you can walk in the door and treat yourself to bagels, candy, or even pizza—all provided by one of the largest fitness franchises in the world. They’ve sought to be the low-cost leader and come from humble beginnings.
Originally a failed GOLD’S GYM in Sunrise, FL, new owners Michael and Marc Grondahl decided to turn their backs on the bodybuilder crowd and market to the non-gymgoers of the world. They made it a policy to limit free weight equipment, banned over-the-top displays of gym aggression, and even installed the LUNK ALARM to stop lifters from grunting too loud.
All this to encourage non-meatheads to give the gym a chance.
But the Grondahl brothers are long gone from the company, so perhaps the new management needs to install a JUNK ALARM so women know when a guy is going to whip out his smallest muscle in their bathroom.
Planet Fitness has stood by its decision to cancel Silva, but sympathetic people around the world are showing their support and canceling their own memberships in droves. This standoff continues with no telling how long it will last.
“I’m here for the long haul. I am going to help make a difference, however that looks,” Silva told Fox News Digital on Wednesday.
For the time being, if you do plan to go to one of these gyms, you may want to wait until you get home to shave!
