Former US President Joe Biden announced on Monday that he has signed with Hollywood mega-talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as he transitions into his post-presidential era, suggesting potential ventures into the entertainment world.
Biden was previously a CAA client from 2017 to 2020, from the end of his time as vice president to the beginning of his presidential campaign. During this time, he published his memoir Promise Me, Dad and embarked on the “American Promise” tour.

“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett said in a statement. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
CAA currently represents an extenvie lineup of high-profile celebrities, including Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Meryl Streep, and Kate Winslet, as well as Higher Ground, the media production company created by Barack and Michelle Obama. Higher Ground has produced more than a dozen films and TV shows.
Neither Biden nor CAA provided details about what their deal will entail, but possibilities range from additional books and speaking tours to entertainment and film projects similar to those of the Obamas. Biden’s previous forays into the entertainment world included two cameo appearances on the NBC sitcom “Parks & Rec,” among others.
Speaking engagements will also likely prove to be a lucrative venture for the former president, as is the case with many retired politicians. After his vice presidency, Biden made between $100,000 and $200,000 per appearance at various universities, according to financial disclosures. He also made just shy of $1 million in 2017 as the University of Pennsylvania’s “Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor.”
As president, Biden was paid the standard salary of $400,000 per year.
