Patrick Bet-David and the home team come together for episode 260 of the PBD Podcast to discuss a number of hot topics, including the hottest current event – Dominion’s lawsuit against Fox News. The lawsuit was settled almost immediately after the trial began, with Fox News agreeing to pay $787.5 million on Tuesday.

Dominion initially filed a $1.6 billion lawsuit in March 2021, claiming that Fox News and Fox Corporation allegedly defamed the election technology company when it hosted lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, who questioned the company’s systems accuracy in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

The settlement means Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch and his son, alongside any hosts accused will not have to admit or publicly apologize for anything.

“Here’s the problem with things like this – I’ll give you my feedback and then we can process this, together,” Pat begins. He continues, “1. I love the fact that there is form of accountability. The slippery slope is, every time a lawyer has a case that becomes a precedent, and that’s the standard – well then guess what, everybody else is getting a phone call.”

“For the next 300 years – Republicans will always be able to say was that the first president that was indicted was by the Democrats. So if a future Democrat tries to say, “this is not a good look for the country, we look divided for the country” hey Democrats, YOU STARTED IT, and Republicans will always be able to say that.”

Patrick continues his opinion by calling out those who have impeached former President Donald Trump for accusing them of “Fake News,” when Trump was merely stating the truth – they were indeed reporting falsities and shortcomings within their stories, as well as false allegations including the Russia collusion hoax.

“If this is happening right now with Fox, guess who’s worried…CNN, NBC, Morning Joe is sitting there – they’re so happy because this is such an ‘in your face’ element – but I think this is going to backfire.”

Home team member Adam Sosnick chimes in and says every media outlet is reporting this story except for Fox News, calling them out for “peddling fake news stories as well, or else they wouldn’t be settling for $787 million.”

According to Sosnick’s statistics, Fox News has had to give up about 20% of their cash on hand to settle this suit. Sosnick recommends dropping the “election was rigged” message and focus on winning based off of merits, policies, the “sh*t show that is Joe Biden,” etc.

Home team member Vincent Oshana chimes in with his thoughts on the matter. “Can you blame somebody like Trump not trusting the same people that did all of these investigations against him?”

“This is something we have never gotten behind of,” Patrick mentions. PBD welcomes different people from opposite sides of the playing field and all of those that can address this situation has not wanted to have a discussion on the show. Why aren’t those other shows being sued for lying about Russia and spreading that misinformation?
