An attitude of gratitude can be game-changing, life-changing, and almost a surefire way to make sure you get the most out of your talent, potential, and life.

Forbes listed 8 ways to incorporate more gratitude and thankfulness in your life daily.

Hopefully, you can get value from these tips and remind yourself of them throughout the year.

  1. Don’t be picky; appreciate everything.

That means finding the joys, pleasures, or at the very least, positives out of small things that usually wouldn’t warrant excitement.

2. Find gratitude in your challenges.

This one takes effort. But so worth it. Sometimes challenging moments play a significant role in shaping your life.

3.  Practice mindfulness.

The Forbes story suggests you sit down and think through 5-10 things you are grateful for. Then, sit with those thoughts of gratitude. The report says if you do this for eight weeks, your brain patterns will lead you to feel greater empathy and happiness.

4. Keep a gratitude journal.

Nothing wrong with writing it all down.

5.  Volunteer. Helping others will always help you.

This one is foolproof. If you give back to your local community, you will learn to appreciate and be grateful for many things you take for granted.

An excerpt from the Forbes story puts real science into this theory.

“University of Pennsylvania professor Martin Seligman, supports this theory with his research in Flourish: A Visionary New Understanding of Happiness and Well-Being. After testing all kinds of variables that help improve our well-being, he found that volunteering is the most reliable way to increase your well-being momentarily.”

6. Express yourself.

Share your feelings of gratitude with others. It will brighten their day and yours.

7.  Spend time with loved ones.

Whenever you are feeling down, spending time with family and close friends will usually help you practice acts of gratitude on people important to you.

8.  Improve your happiness in other areas of your life.

When you are happy, you become more grateful. Endorphins will start flowing.

Happy Thanksgiving!
