Hunter Biden, the legally embattled son of President Joe Biden, was indicted on nine new felony charges on Thursday night in connection with his alleged tax crimes. According to the findings of a federal grand jury impaneled by Special Counsel David Weiss, the First Son now stands accused of changes including failure to file and pay taxes, evasion of assessment, and making a false or fraudulent tax return.
According to the lengthy indictment brought against Biden, the scandal-ridden attorney withheld over a million dollars between 2016 and 2019 while also fraudulently ending repayment of overdue taxes owed from 2015. Within this time frame, Biden was allegedly making millions from foreign business arrangements in Ukraine and China—but all of this profit was spent on lavish living and illegal activities.

“The Defendant engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019, from in or about January 2017 through in or about October 15, 2020, and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns in or about February 2020,” prosecutors said in court documents filed on Thursday. “In furtherance of that scheme, the Defendant subverted the payroll and tax withholding process of his own company, Owasco, PC by withdrawing millions…outside of the payroll and tax withholding process that it was designed to perform.”
Prosecutors further allege that “Between 2016 and October 15, 2020, the Defendant spent this money on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature—in short, everything but his taxes.”

Specific allegations about these illicit expenditures include:
- $872,172 spent on “various women” with whom he had sexual relationships, as well as a payment for a sex club membership and tips for strippers and escorts;
- A $1,500 Venmo to a stripper and a $11,500 payment to an escort—both of which were recorded as a business expense;
- Payroll and healthcare expenses for three romantic partners brought into his company to reduce his tax burden;
- Multiple charges from strip clubs and luxury retailers on his business credit card.
The latest indictment coincides with a Republican-led effort to subpoena Biden to testify in an impeachment inquiry against his father, President Joe Biden, who allegedly participated in his son’s corrupt business dealings. The legal battle to release Hunter Biden from his obligation to appear is ongoing.
Biden was previously indicted earlier this year on federal gun charges, as well as several other tax fraud charges.
