In this video, Patrick Bet-David discusses how Blockchain voting can help improve election transparency and possibly eliminate voter fraud in US elections.
In the United States, voting methods have not changed since the 1980s. From the country’s founding until the mid 19th century, voting was either done verbally or through handwritten notes. In the 1850s, voting came to be done by ballots printed by the newly-formed political parties.
In 1880s, there came the secret ballots, also known as the “Australian ballots.” This was created to ensure privacy and reduce intimidation from voting machine thugs and other partisans.
Various forms of voting machines were introduced after that.
But what if voting was done through a blockchain-based smartphone app? The decentralized network technology could prevent hacking and manipulation while making voting easier for Americans. At the same time, critics fear the system is less accountable than the physical voting process we have today.
