Vice President Kamala Harris has challenged former President Donald Trump to take a cognitive test, asserting her own willingness to do the same in response to Trump’s claims about her mental acuity. Trump repeatedly called Harris a “very low IQ person” during his viral appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Friday, prompting Harris to counter with claims that he is “increasingly unstable” and unfit for office.
“Sure, I would challenge him to take the same one,” Harris said during a Sunday interview with CBS News’s Norah O’Donnell when asked about the possibility of cognitive testing. “This is what he has resorted to, and I think he actually is increasingly unstable and unhinged and has resorted to name-calling because he actually has no plan for the American people.”

“Don’t take it from me, listen to the people who know him best,” she continued. “His former chiefs of staff. Most recently, four-star Marine Gen. John Kelly. Listen to two former secretaries of defense who worked for him, listen to his national security adviser, listen to his vice president, who have all, in one way or another, said he is unfit to be president again, should never be president again, and is dangerous.”
While Harris has a slight national lead in polls, both candidates are reportedly tied in key battleground states with the election approaching.
“It’s a presidential race, and it should be close,” Harris told CBS. “In all honesty, I’m seeing a lot of enthusiasm around our campaign.”
Harris’s remarks come amid rising scrutiny over her handling of inflation, particularly as grocery prices have surged since she took office. Critics have expressed frustration over the administration’s response to economic pressures, questioning Harris’s effectiveness in addressing these concerns.
