Government authorities conducted a raid at Infowars’ base of operations in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, according to claims by network Alex Jones and others from the company.
The authorities were reportedly there to enforce bankruptcy liquidation, but Jones claims they did not have a court order to do so. The media influencer spent the night in his offices in an attempt to defend his operation from the alleged extralegal actors.
X influencer and former litigator David Freiheit (aka @thevivafrei) summarized the events in a video posted on X, corroborated by Alex Jones. The government authority involved, he says, is the Court Restructuring Officer (CRO). The CRO, responsible for overseeing the financial restructuring and compliance of Jones’ bankruptcy, attempted to put locks on the doors and end Infowars operations.

Freiheit further stated that “the CRO has been acting in such a way to obviously and maliciously entrap Alex Jones to facilitate the shutting down of Infowars.” He went on to explain that the CRO had hampered Infowars’ business prospects with sponsors, which hurt the ability of the creditors to be repaid in the bankruptcy process.
Jones claims to have recorded the alleged entrapment by the government representative. The CRO has been identified as J. Patrick Magill, a bankruptcy professional based in Houston, Texas.

With the presidential election just five months away, Jones and others speculate that the attempt to shut down the popular media operation is politically biased. They also point to the fact that this is occurring just a few days after Trump was found guilty in his hush money trial, suggesting it was either inspiration or cover for the attempt to shut down Infowars.
Jones’ bankruptcy was triggered late last year by a legal settlement with the families of the Sandy Hook school shooting victims, who sued Jones for allegedly spreading conspiracy theories about the tragedy.
Around the time of the events, Alex Jones went live on X for a broadcast over four hours in length.

No statements have yet been reported by the Texas courts or Mr. Magill on the situation. Both Trump and Jones have taken aim at the “deep state” whom they believe are behind the respective legal attacks against them. Whether the two instances are coordinated or not, they are significant legal actions against politically active individuals during an election year.
