The media wars are getting hotter.

Fox News is doing all they can to torpedo Tucker Carlson’s show on Twitter, after his unceremonious firing from the network.

CNBC reports that Fox News issued a “cease and desist” order Monday to stop Tucker Carlson from continuing his show online.

They say Carlson is guilty of breaching his contract. A strange argument considering the person accused of doing that just got fired.

But Carlson’s attorney Harmeet Dhillon is on the case. You might remember Dhillon when she ran for Republican National Committee chair earlier this year. She has a lot of powerful connections in key conservative circles.

“Fox News continues to ignore the interests of its viewers, not to mention its shareholder obligations. Doubling down on the most catastrophic programming decision in the history of the cable news industry, Fox is now demanding that Tucker Carlson be silent until after the 2024 election. Tucker will not be silenced by anyone,” she said.

This comes after Fox News issued a more vague letter five days prior saying Carlson generally violated his contract, without getting into specifics.

Fox News’ actions could end up violating the first amendment. Or at least that’s what Carlson’s attorneys are arguing.

Bryan Freedman, also on Carlson’s legal team said, “Fox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds. Now they want to take Tucker Carlson’s right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events.”

Freedman might have an argument here, so expect Fox News’ efforts to totally backfire. After accusations mount that mainstream media is corrupt, this should only add another nail in the coffin. Sad!
