John Bolton Admits to Planning Foreign Coups

The former senior White House official said overthrowing governments takes ‘a lot of work’

Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton admitted that he has helped plan foreign coups.

John Bolton has served for various administrations including Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump.

Bolton’s work for the Trump administration ended abruptly due to disagreements with the former president, leading to his resignation.

Bolton spoke with Jake Tapper on CNN following Tuesday’s congressional hearing into the January 6 riot, and insisted the former president could not have pulled off a “carefully planned coup d’etat,” as “that’s not the way Donald Trump does things.”

Tapper argued saying, “one doesn’t have to be brilliant to attempt a coup.”

Bolton continued, saying he himself had taken part in the ousting of foreign governments and that such projects require significant planning.

“I disagree with that. As someone who has helped plan coup d’etats – not here but, you know, other places – it takes a lot of work,” the former official went on. “And that’s not what Trump did. It was just stumbling around from one idea to another,” said the former US National Security Advisor.

What a Surprise!

America involves itself in other nations to further their own corrupt agendas? Oh! Is that why the CIA and FBI have plants all around the world?

Which is more impressive? America’s destabilization of the Middle East, or the recent donation of $40 BILLION to the Ukraine to promote another useless war.

When Tapper asked Bolton for details, he refused to elaborate.

Bolton then mentioned Venezuela, where US-backed opposition figures attempted to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro in 2019 but failed to inspire mass defections from the security forces.

“The efforts in Venezuela turned out not to be successful. Not that we had all that much to do with it, but I saw what it took for an opposition to try and overturn an illegally elected president and they failed,” said Bolton.

Bolton supported opposition leader Juan Guaido during the coup attempt, even addressing social media posts to senior Venezuelan officials urging them to join the effort.

In comments to reporters at the time, however, he argued “this is clearly not a coup,” maintaining Guaido was Venezuela’s “legitimate” leader.

“I feel like there’s other stuff you’re not telling me.”

Tapper questioned Bolton further on his coup comments, saying “I feel like there’s other stuff you’re not telling me,” to which Bolton = replied, “I’m sure there is” and offered no further details.

Bolton then published a “tell-all” book titled, The Room Where it Happened, in which he describes the former president as one who was “addicted to chaos,” and someone who “embraced our enemies and spurned our friends.”

Bolton said that former President Trump was “deeply suspicious of his own government.”

I’m struggling to see the problem here…

Shouldn’t we all be suspicious of our governments? Nobody trusts the government these days.

Bolton went on to describe the stark differences between the Trump administration and prior ones, saying  “The differences between this presidency and previous ones I had served were stunning.”

He claims Trump viewed foreign policy as “closing a real estate deal” and was only interested in “advancing his own interests.”

According to his book, he states that “As a result, the US lost an opportunity to confront its deepening threats, and in cases like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea ended up in a more vulnerable place.”

If this is what “threats” look like, I think we might have different definitions of “peace,” Mr. Bolton.

John Bolton seems to have it all backwards…

Now, many Americans say they would be willing to overthrow their own government to take their country back … 28% of Americans to be exact.

The survey of 1,000 registered voters, published by the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, revealed that most Americans agree the government is “corrupt and rigged against everyday people.”
