Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer spoke out publicly on Monday to address the now provably false rape allegations that ruined his career more than two years ago. After Bauer and accuser Lindsey Hill’s civil suits against each other were both dismissed earlier this week, Bauer posted an in-depth video revealing incriminating texts suggesting that Hill’s claims were entirely fabricated.

Lindsey Hill accused Trevor Bauer of sexual assault in June 2021

In the spring of 2021, Lindsey Hill alleged that Trevor Bauer had violently assaulted her during two separate sexual encounters in April and May of that year. After the two met via Instagram in April, Hill claims that Bauer choked her with her hair until she lost consciousness during their first hookup. The second encounter took place a few weeks later, at which point Hill alleged that she was again choked out. She then awoke to Bauer sodomizing her and violently striking her in the head, face, and genitals, leaving her with facial bruises and a split lip. She went public with her accusations in June 2021.

Bauer, however, maintained that the rough sex was consensual, denied the punching and anal sex, and said Hill was left with no injuries afterward. “She chose to stay the night, both times and left the following day without any incident or concern,” Bauer said in a video about the allegations. “And when she left, she certainly did not look anything like the photos that were later attached to her family court declaration and circulated by her lawyers to the media.”

One month after Hill’s initial accusation, the star pitcher was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by Major League Baseball. Bauer did not play for the remainder of the 2021 season. In January 2022, he was officially suspended by the Dodgers for violating the MLB’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse Policy. The original 324-game suspension, reduced to 194 games in December 2022, rendered him unable to finish out the last year of his three-year $100 million contract. Bauer now plays baseball in Japan after every American team declined to draft him.

In February 2022, the Los Angeles County District Attorney opted not to pursue criminal charges against Bauer based on insufficient evidence of the assault. Around this same time, Hill was denied a restraining order against Bauer—a rare occurrence given the extremely low burden of proof required. Bauer was notably never arrested or charged with a crime.

The former Dodger sued Hill for defamation in April 2022, along with sports publication The Athletic, which had falsely reported Hill sustaining a skull fracture. The suit against The Athletic was dropped, but Hill met Bauer with a countersuit. Both cases were dismissed “with prejudice” on Monday, with no money being exchanged between the two parties.

But with the litigation concluded, Bauer is now free to discuss the details of the case openly—and the evidence he shared in an X post on Monday afternoon seems incredibly damning for both Hill and the media that supported her claims.

“Next victim: Star pitcher for the Dodgers,” a text Lindsey Hill sent to a friend before she ever even met me. “What should I steal?” she asked another, in reference to visiting my house for the first time. The answer? “Take his money.” So how might that work? “I’m going to his house Wednesday.” she said, “I already have my hooks in. you know how I roll.” Then, after the first time we met, “Net worth is 51 mil” she said. “B***h, you better secure the bag,” was the response.

But how was she going to do that? “Need daddy to choke me out,” she said. “Being an absolute whore to try to get in on his 51 million,” read another text. Then, after the second time we met, former [San Diego] Padres pitcher Jacob Nix told her “you gotta get this bag.” “I’ll give you 50,000” Lindsey replied. Her AA sponsor asked her at one point, “do you feel a tiny bit guilty?” “Not really,” she replied.

Bauer further claimed that these incriminating texts were “deliberately and unlawfully concealed” from his legal team, as was a video of Hill lying in bed with him after the second hookup. Hill is seen smiling alongside a sleeping Bauer, notably without any facial injuries or signs of trauma. Bauer explained that metadata from the video definitively proves that it was taken after the alleged second assault, conclusively disproving Hill’s claims.

“Over the last two years, I’ve been forced to defend my integrity and my reputation in a very public setting, but hopefully this is the last time I have to do so, as I’d prefer to just remain focused on doing my job, winning baseball games and entertaining fans around the world,” Bauer concluded. “Today I’m happy to be moving on with my life.”
