The FBI has uncovered approximately 2,400 previously undisclosed records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as a result of a review prompted by an executive order from President Donald Trump.
First reported by Axios, these documents, spanning 14,000 pages, were never provided to the JFK Assassination Records Review Board or the National Archives, raising concerns about government transparency over the years.
According to anonymous sources speaking to the outlet, these documents should have been transferred to the archives in compliance with the 1992 JFK Records Act. The fact they have reportedly only now been discovered is significant.

“This is huge. It shows the FBI is taking this seriously,” said Jefferson Morley, vice president of the Mary Ferrell Foundation and an expert on the assassination. “The FBI is finally saying, ‘Let’s respond to the president’s order,’ instead of keeping the secrecy going.”
While the contents of these documents remain undisclosed, they have the potential to offer new insights into one of America’s most scrutinized historical events.
Despite Trump’s order, intelligence agencies are still recommending redactions, citing protection of “sources and methods,” leading to frustration within the White House.
As Valuetainment previously reported, Trump signed an executive order during his first week in office calling for the declassification and public release of all remaining records related to the JKF assassination, as well as the assassinations of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

“When POTUS hears about this stonewalling, he’s gonna hit the roof,” said one White House official who spoke with Axios.
“This is total Deep State bulls***,” another added.
“Don’t be surprised if all these records just suddenly wind up online,” the third remarked. “He wants to move on and call this a promise kept.”
Trump notably blocked a full disclosure of the JFK files during his first term–and even alluded to disturbing contents within those documents–but later expressed regret over the decision. A partial declassification took place under former President Joe Biden, but those documents contained no new information.
Per Trump’s new order, all documents related to the three assassinations must be made available by March 9.
“The FBI conducted a new records search pursuant to President Trump’s Executive Order issued on January 23, 2025, regarding the declassification of the assassination files of JFK, RFK, and MLK,” an FBI representative told the Daily Caller. “The search resulted in approximately 2400 newly inventoried and digitized records that were previously unrecognized as related to the JFK assassination case file.”
The release of these records could impact future procedures for handling sensitive government information.
