Twitter owner and former CEO Elon Musk has officially launched “X” – a freshly rebranded logo for Twitter’s former bluebird.

Users may have already noticed the logo change upon opening their app profiles. The color scheme also changed from its signature light blue color to black:

As part of the rebranding, Twitter’s URL also changed to X.com, a domain name in correlation with Musk’s 1999 financial services startup, which was later sold to PayPal.

Musk teased about a new Twitter logo for some time now, asking users for logo ideas and their choice of favorites amongst designs he found to be “minimalist art deco.” He later mentioned in a tweet that said logos “will be redefined.”

Musk later tweeted, “Our headquarters tonight,” displaying the large “X” logo on the side of Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters.

A tweet posted by Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino reads, “X is here! Let’s do this.”

As we are all aware, Musk uses the letter X in several of this business interests, including Space X and Tesla car models.

The business mogul established X Corp. in March as the parent company to Twitter – a vision Musk has in order to create a “super app” with multiple functionalities. Just last April, Twitter introduced a new feature that allowed app users to access the crypto market as well as other financial services.

Musk predicts that X could become a popular platform for multiple areas of productivity outside of thoughtful tweets. Finance, banking, payments and data are just some of the many ways Musk is hoping to transform Twitter.
