Former President Donald Trump announced a slate of new endorsements for leadership of the Republican National Committee (RNC) on Monday, confirming earlier reports of his frustrations with current RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. The former president has now thrown his support behind North Carolina GOP chairman Michael Whatley as Romney’s successor, as well as his own daughter-in-law Lara Trump for co-chair.

In a statement released to media outlets on Monday night, former President Trump emphasized his desire to build up party leaders who will support his campaign, “ensure fair and transparent elections across the country,” and work with him “as the Republican presumptive nominee for President to win this election and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

To ensure this outcome, Trump touted Michael Whatley’s record as chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, emphasizing how Whatley has supported him in his battle against voter fraud since 2020. He went on to praise his “very talented daughter-in-law” Lara Trump (wife of Eric Trump) for accepting the challenge of running for co-chair. Political consultant and former Marine Chris LaCivita has also been tapped to become the RNC’s chief operating officer. LaCivita currently serves as Trump’s campaign co-manager.

As Valuetainment previously reported, current RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago last week to discuss the former president’s “recommendations for RNC growth.” Following this meeting, reports circulated that McDaniel would be stepping down after the South Carolina primary election on February 24th. McDaniel did not confirm these reports, but both she and Trump indicated that “this will be decided after South Carolina.”

Calls for McDaniel to resign have mounted for months in light of recent Republican underperformance in key elections since 2020. At the same time, RNC fundraising has been at its lowest in a decade, with the latest filings showing just $8 million in cash on hand and $1.8 million in debt.

However, despite Trump cementing his objection to Romney’s continued leadership, his endorsement does not automatically grant his preferred candidates the job. A committee vote will be required to appoint new party officials—but according to Politico, party insiders expect this will merely be a formality given Trump’s position as the presumptive nominee.

The full slate of RNC endorsements from Donald Trump can be read below:

The RNC MUST be a good partner in the Presidential election. It must do the work we expect from the national Party and do it flawlessly. That means helping to ensure fair and transparent elections across the country, getting out the vote everywhere – even in parts of the country where it won’t be easy – and working with my campaign, as the Republican presumptive nominee for President, to win this election and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

For these reasons, I think my friend Michael Whatley should be the RNC’s next leader. Michael has been with me from the beginning, has done a great job in his home state of North Carolina, and is committed to election integrity, which we must have to keep fraud out of our election so it can’t be stolen.

My very talented daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, has agreed to run as the RNC Co-Chair. Lara is an extremely talented communicator and is dedicated to all that MAGA stands for. She has told me she wants to accept this challenge and would be GREAT!

I have also asked Chris LaCivita, in whom I have full confidence, to assume the role of, in effect, Chief Operating Officer of the Committee. Chris will manage the RNC’s day-to-day operations so it will become a fighting machine for 2024 and use all the tools available to win for the American people.

This group of three is highly talented, battle-tested, and smart. They have my complete and total endorsement to lead the Republican National Committee.

Every penny will be used properly. New Day.
