Stacey Plaskett is a delegate to congress from the US Virgin Islands. She’s essentially a “shadow congresswoman,” considering that she represents a territory. She has no voting power but has the ability to weigh in on hearings.
She made the quite the accidental statement when being interviewed on MSNBC Monday, as Fox News notes.
She was asked to weigh in on the federal indictment of former President Donald Trump.
“Having Trump not only having the codes but now having the classified information for Americans and being able to put that out and share it in his resort with anyone and everything who comes through should be terrifying to all Americans. He needs to be shot.”
Whoops. She quickly corrected herself and said, “stopped.” But we all know what she was really thinking.
One conservative Twitter user made an interesting point, as no big-name Democratic politician has come out to condemn Plaskett:

Plaskett even served as a key impeachment manager in congress.
And she’s been outspoken before. After journalist Matt Taibbi revealed the hardcore partisan lean of the Twitter employees and their efforts to censor anything anti-government intrusion during covid, Plaskett called for him to be “jailed.”
Quite the rhetorical record, to say the least.
