Over the weekend, climate activists vandalized the $300 million yacht of Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie in Ibiza, spraying the back of the craft in red and black paint.

Two demonstrators from Futuro Vegetal – a Spain-based environmental group – proceeded to display a sign reading “You Consume Others Suffer,” which they then posted pictures of the incident on their Twitter account.

“The only reason we continue to maintain an economic system that leads us to eco-social collapse is to sustain the privileges of this small privileged class,” the group said in a statement about the vandalism. “The mega-rich live off the suffering of others.”

A Spanish civil guard mentioned two people being arrested at the docks over the incident, according to local Periodico de Ibiza reports.

The Spanish newspaper reported that the yacht was initially scheduled to leave Ibiza on Sunday just moments before the spray-painting incident took place as the crew was preparing to depart.

The Futuro Vegetal group, which translates in English to “Future Vegetable,” has displayed multiple acts, posting the incidents on their social media channels in efforts to spread awareness of the climate crisis they claim the world is facing because of luxurious purchases including private jets, yachts, expensive cars and more.

The group called on a campaign to search and target jets and and yachts in Ibiza, with a private jet spray painted in similar fashion last week at Ibiza’s airport.

They specifically targeted Laurie’s yacht because she is one of the wealthiest women in the world, with a reported to be roughly $8.7 billion, according to Forbes.

Laurie inherited a stake in Walmart in 1995 from her father Bud Walton, who built the brand into retail royalty alongside his brother. Her yacht, named Kaos, is 361 feet long and features four decks, a large cinema, a gym and a small hospital for at-sea medical crises.
