As soon as Open AI launched ChatGPT, competitors like Microsoft’s Bing were sure to trail along, close behind. The future of Google has been in question recently, especially with users now turning to these chatbots for information rather than the popular search engine.

Now, Google has released Bard: an answer to ChatGPT – according to DigitalTrends, “it’s designed to simulate conversations with a human and uses a combination of natural language processing and machine learning, to provide realistic, and helpful responses to questions you might ask it.”

The article continues, “Such tools may become particularly useful for smaller companies who want to offer natural language support to their customers without hiring large teams of support staff, or for augmenting Google’s own search tools.”

Back in February 2023, CEO of Google and Alphabet Sundar Pichai released the initial announcement of the AI service Bard saying, “we’re taking another step forward by opening it up to trusted testers ahead of making it more widely available to the public in the coming weeks.”

“We’re expanding access to Bard in US + UK with more countries ahead, it’s an early experiment that lets you collaborate with generative AI. Hope Bard sparks more creativity and curiosity and will get better with feedback.”

Anyone who has used ChatGPT may be finding discrepancies within the information given, claiming to be factual. These inaccuracies have disproven ChatGPT to be the end all, be all of research findings.

Google warns, however, that Bard would have “limitations” and said it may share information and display bias.

Bard will be available to adults 18+ only.
