The Biden White House worked directly with YouTube to police so-called ‘misinformation’ related to COVID-19 and the COVID vaccine. This is according to a new report from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Internal documents from Google, the parent company of YouTube, were obtained by the Republican House Committee on the Judiciary and the Select Subcommittee of the Federal Government. Jordan chairs both entities, and distributed the story to Fox News.

Opening the thread by referencing the Twitter files released roughly a year ago, Jordan dubbed this new batch “the YouTube Files.” These documents reveal that figures in the Biden administration worked with Google in 2021 to “crack down on vaccine misinformation.”

Specifically, April 2021, the Biden administration’s Director of Digital Strategy Rob Flaherty e-mailed Google to discuss policing misinformation on YouTube. He referenced a previous meeting he had had with the tech giant, implying these talks had been going on for some time. Flaherty also inquired about “the empirical effects” of Google’s crackdown efforts and offered to “partner” with the company’s product work.

According to an internal email from Google, there was a follow up meeting with Flaherty during which he “particularly dug in on” the YouTube’s definition of “borderline content,” or content that brushes up against rule violation.

Then, one week later, Google sent the Biden White House a report on the amount of COVID ‘misinformation’ videos it deleted. Google also discussed the government’s demand for even more data. Flaherty was evidently skeptical about whether YouTube’s rules were strict enough.

“Unfortunately, the role of tech in addressing vaccine hesitancy is about to come under a massive spotlight particularly as the supply of the vaccine is soon to outpace demand,” an internal Google email read in April 2021. The message added that there was about to be “a very high degree of interest” from the White House regarding vaccine content and “borderline” qualifications. Google’s Government Affairs team requested the Product team to brief White House staffers on their progress in removing borderline content, and then asked them to meet with the White House directly.

“We knew the Biden White House worked to censor American speech with the help of Big Tech. Internal documents from Google obtained by the Judiciary Committee and Select Subcommittee show that their scheme extended to YouTube,” Jordan told FOX Business.

“The Committees will continue their critical investigative work to protect Americans’ First Amendment rights and put an end to the vast government censorship enterprise.”
