President Joe Biden has ordered the deployment of 1,000 active-duty soldiers to North Carolina to aid in recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. These troops will expedite the delivery of essential supplies such as food, water, and medicine to isolated communities.

The storm has caused significant damage, especially in Asheville, where flooding and mudslides have disrupted infrastructure.

FEMA has been actively involved, distributing millions of meals and liters of water, along with other supplies. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are visiting the affected regions to survey the damage and oversee relief operations.
