Jeff Bezos had primo seats at the first Thursday Night Football game broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime in Kansas City Thursday Night. He was beaming when the cameras found him, celebrating the accomplishment and the excitement on the field.  The Chiefs beat the Chargers in a close game between AFC West rivals.

Friday, the news was not as good for Bezos.  He’s no longer the second wealthiest person in the world. He’s been replaced by Gautam Adani, the business mogul from India who now sits one notch below Elon Musk on the big dollar sign board.

Adani’s fortune grew to $149.6 billion, far behind Musk’s $260b; Bezos is just 10 or 11 Powerball Lottery wins from Adani, with a net worth of $145 billion.

Bezos was No. 1 until his divorce in 2019. The tech selloff this year has also cost Bezos billions, $45 billion, to be specific.

If you’ve never heard of Adani, you are not alone. He’s made his money operating various businesses, including ports and coal mining.

One thing Bezos has that his two rich rivals don’t, however, is his own damn streaming service that carries Thursday Night NFL games. That’s a heck of a lot sexier than coal mining.
