Our favorite Hollywood superstar Bruce Willis, known for his tough-guy roles in movies such as Die Hard and The Sixth Sense, had been diagnosed with Aphasia, a condition that affects a person’s ability to communicate – back in 2022.

Ex-wife and Hollywood actress, Demi Moore posted on her Instagram Thursday, that the 67-year-old actor has now been diagnosed with Frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disorder that affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

According to reports, Willis has been experiencing symptoms for several years, but it was only recently that he was diagnosed with the condition. In an official statement released by Moore through the Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration, she expresses immense gratitude for the “outpouring of love and compassion for Bruce over the past ten months.”

Moore continues, “Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

Demi Moore’s statement can be found in the tweet, below:

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a relatively rare form of dementia that typically affects people in their 50s and 60s. Unlike Alzheimer’s disease, which primarily affects memory, FTD can cause changes in behavior, personality, and language abilities.

Aphasia is one of the most common symptoms of FTD, along with difficulty with speech, understanding language, and writing.

The news of Willis’ diagnosis has sparked a conversation about FTD and the importance of raising awareness about this relatively unknown condition.

Demi closes her statement stating, “Bruce has always found joy in life – and has helped everyone he knows to do the same.” She adds, “Your continued compassion, understanding, and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible.” We’re cheering Bruce on, every step of the way!
