If you or your child is making big bucks and gaining a large audience from TikTok, it’s time to think of another game plan. Why?
The question is not if TikTok will be banned in America but when the social media app will be banned. Wednesday, in a unanimous vote, the U.S. Senate passed legislation prohibiting TikTok from all government devices. The final vote for the No TikTok on Government Devices Act will happen in the House next week.
Florida’s Republican Sen. Marco Rubio announced a bill, dubbed the Anti-Social CCP Act, that would take the ban even further. The bipartisan legislation would ban “any social media company in or under the influence of China, Russia, and several other foreign countries of concern.” A Chinese company, Bytedance, owns TikTok.
Why is TikTok a threat to America?
FBI Director Chris Wray says TikTok is a national security risk. Wray has stated to Reuters the “Chinese government could use TikTok to control data collection on millions of users or control the recommendation algorithm, which could be used for influence operations.”
Recent studies or experiments prove that the FBI is not “crying wolf.” Numerous research is revealing the impact the potentially dangerous social media is having on the influence of your child or children. A recent study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate shows TikTok’s algorithm recommends self-harm and eating disorder content to teenage users nearly every 39 seconds.
Valuetainement CEO and PBD Podcast host recently completed his social experiment on the app. During that social experiment, Patrick Bet-David noticed several questionable things, including the Chinese-owned app’s way of suppressing his videos whenever he spoke negatively about China. For a complete look at what Bet-David has discovered about TikTok, check out the video below and let’s talk about it. Are we making it easy for China to destroy?
