Former President Donald Trump is once again teasing a major announcement. To tease the announcement, he posted a superhero-themed video on his social media app, Truth Social. In the video, Trump teases, “America needs a superhero.”

Many people are flooding social media, predicting what they think the announcement will be. In November, Trump announced his third consecutive presidential campaign. Many expect the new announcement to reveal Trump’s VP running mate for the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Some predict his running mate will be Arizona politician Kari Lake. Lake was the Republican nominee in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election.
The tease comes just days after a federal judge dismissed Trump’s request for a neutral third party to examine documents seized by federal investigators from his Mar-a-Lago resort.
The announcement also comes after two recent polls suggest Trump has some tough competition to beat. Interest in Florida Gov. Ron Desantis is rising among Republicans. In a Wall Street Journal poll, 86% of Republican primary voters favored Desantis, while only 74% said they would vote for Trump.
In a USA TODAY/ Suffolk University poll, 31% of Republican and Republican-leaning voters said they wanted Trump to run in 2024. Sixty-one percent of voters said they preferred another Republican nominee who would support the same policies as former President Trump. That poll also found Republicans favored Desantis over Trump, 56% to 33%.
