The Valuetainment Story: From Refugee to Entrepreneur
Patrick’s personal journey shapes Valuetainment’s mission. Born in Iran to Armenian and Assyrian parents, he fled the Iranian Revolution, lived in a German refugee camp, and eventually moved to the U.S. He served in the military before diving into finance, working at Morgan Stanley and Transamerica.
Seeing gaps in the insurance industry, he launched PHP Agency in 2009, scaling it from 66 agents to nearly 60,000 before selling it in 2022. Simultaneously, he started creating content in 2013, which led to the birth of Valuetainment—a brand focused on entrepreneurship, capitalism, and business education.
The Evolution of Valuetainment
What started as a YouTube channel with one video per week has evolved into a multi-faceted business empire. Some of Valuetainment’s major components include:
- PBD Podcast – A leading business and political podcast that gained traction, peaking with 281,000 concurrent viewers on Election Night.
- Future Looks Bright – A fast-growing merchandise brand that scaled from 690 pieces sold in 2020 to 120,000 in 2024.
- The Vault Conference – A high-profile business event featuring notable figures like The Rock and Tom Brady, aiming to become the world’s largest business expo.
- Manet – A business consulting platform focused on high-impact coaching and networking.
- B. David Consulting – A firm that grew from a single client into 10,000 clients across 60+ countries.
A Culture of Hard Work and Growth
Patrick makes it clear: Valuetainment isn’t about work-life balance in the traditional sense. The company operates with non-stop intensity, hosting large-scale events, creating media content, and running multiple business divisions. Employees are expected to embrace the grind, thrive under pressure, and constantly push boundaries.
While some may find this overwhelming, for the right person, it’s an opportunity of a lifetime. Valuetainment offers a dynamic career path, allowing individuals to transition across different business divisions, gain experience, and grow with the company.
Core Values: The DNA of Valuetainment
Valuetainment’s culture is built on key principles that define its team and mission:
- Capitalism Without Compromise – Success is driven by hard work, results, and a free-market mindset.
- Leadership as a Mindset – Titles don’t define leaders; actions and influence do.
- Debate Drives Excellence – Constructive disagreement sharpens ideas and encourages innovation.
- Entrepreneurial Thinking – Employees are expected to take ownership, solve problems, and move with urgency.
- The “One Club” Principle – Reliability is crucial. If a task is assigned, it gets done the first time—no second requests needed.
- Recognition and Accountability – Top performers are publicly recognized, and constructive feedback is part of daily operations.
A High Bar for Recruitment
With thousands of applicants each month, Valuetainment has a rigorous hiring process. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, entrepreneurial spirit, and a commitment to growth. New hires undergo training, read assigned books, and are expected to adapt quickly.
For those who excel, the company offers competitive compensation, bonuses, equity, and long-term career development. However, mediocrity isn’t tolerated—only high achievers thrive.
Is Valuetainment Right for You?
PBD emphasizes that Valuetainment is not for everyone. It’s a company for driven individuals who seek challenge, growth, and impact. Those who are resilient, ambitious, and passionate about capitalism and entrepreneurship will find Valuetainment to be an extraordinary career opportunity.
