A Burger King employee was gifted more than $400,000 after a viral video revealed he worked more than two decades without taking a single day off from work.

Kevin Ford, a cashier and cook at the Burger King location in the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, went viral back in June when a video posted on TikTok shared an employee who had not called out of work in nearly three decades.

The underwhelming gift in the video included a Starbucks cup, a bag of Reese’s, two packets of Life Savers, a string backpack, pens and keychains. Ford appeared grateful, regardless of how small the gift was.

The response from social media led one of his daughters to create a GoFundMe page, asking folks to donate if they “feel like blessing him.”

“He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago,” daughter Seryna wrote on the GoFundMe Page. “Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionized. This got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage.”

The viral video led to an even bigger treat when the help of over 13,500 donations raised over $400,000! The goal was originally set to $250,000. Actor David Spade also became one of the top donors, giving Ford $5,000, with many others donating $27 — one for each year of service.

“There’s a lot of ugly going on right now. There’s a lot of tragedy with all the things that you see on the news daily, and I think for once people just want to be a part of something beautiful,” Ford emotionally told Today. “And believe me, this is so beautiful,” he added.

Despite his recent earnings and on the brink of recent popularity in the media, Ford stated he has no plans of retiring any time soon.
