Bridge Michigan found that El-Sayed won just 30 of Michigan’s 83 counties in the Democratic primary, with especially strong results in Kent and Washtenaw counties. He became the first Democrat since 2016 to win a statewide primary without carrying Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb counties.
