Amazon has removed references to “inclusion and diversity” from its latest 2024 10-K report, reflecting a broader trend among major corporations to scale back diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
This change follows a December memo to employees indicating that the company would wind down such programs.

The revised report now states, ‘We strive to be Earth’s best employer,’ omitting earlier mentions of diversity in the workplace.
This move aligns with similar actions by other tech giants like Meta and Google, who have also curtailed DEI efforts amid legal threats from conservative groups.
These rollbacks come years after companies expanded diversity policies following the 2020 protests against racial injustice, encouraged by political pressures including directives from the Trump administration to eliminate DEI programs in federally funded entities.
