The star-studded “White Dudes for Harris” Zoom call promoting Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign reportedly raised over $4 million on Monday night, using a lineup of celebrities and public figures to attract support from the oft-forgotten identity group.  Featuring appearances from actors including Mark Hamill, Jeff Bridges, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and a headline speech from Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, the three-hour video call attracted over 80,000 left-leaning Caucasian males—a veritable “rainbow of beige” to support Harris’ political ambitions.

The “White Dudes for Harris” gathering was first conceived by Democratic organizers Brad Bauman and Ross Morales Rocketto and is not officially affiliated with the Harris campaign. Rather, the event was billed as a show of solidarity against former President Donald Trump’s perceived monopoly on the White vote.

“Throughout American history, when white men have organized, it was often with pointy hats on,” Morales Rocketto said, referring to cloth hoods of the Ku Klux Klan. “And so I think that discomfort, I think the skepticism, is understandable. The reason that we are doing this is because… the left has been ceding white men to the MAGA right for way, way too long.”

Actor Jeff Bridges, known for playing “The Dude” in 1998’s “The Big Lebowski,” proudly declared “I’m white, I’m a dude, and I’m for Harris,” saying that he is “excited” to have a female president who champions women’s rights.

Actor Josh Gad compared the assembled White Dudes to the lineup of speakers at the Republican National Convention, saying  “They have Kid Rock, Kevin Sorbo and a dolphin aficionado, and we have the Hulk [Mark Ruffalo], Samwise Gamgee [Sean Astin], Luke Skywalker [Mark Hamill], and Mayor Pete [Buttigieg] just on the Zoom.”

The call also featured a selection of politicians in the running to become Harris’ vice presidential candidate, led by Buttigieg, who argued that “Men are more free when the leader of the free world and the leader of this country supports access to birth control and to IVF.”

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker quipped that a White Dudes gathering “doesn’t usually sound like something I would join, but this is a terrific cause.”

“How often in 100 days do you get to change the trajectory of the world?” said Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota. “And how often in the world do you make that b*****d [Trump] wake up afterwards and know that a Black woman kicked his ass and sent him on the road?”

“I’m not a political scientist or the pollsters, but I know enough to know — and I’ve seen enough polling results or outcomes in elections to know — that if white males would vote 1 to 2 percent more for Democrats than they usually do, then we win this race,” said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper.
