Valuetainment founder and CEO Patrick Bet-David faced off against a crowd of leftist demonstrators in Washington DC on Saturday night, attempting (unsuccessfully) to engage in constructive discourse about Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

Video recorded at the scene shows a small group of protesters gathered outside a party hosted by DOGE leadership, chanting “Fascists out of DC” and carrying anti-Elon signage. After 10 pm, DC law enforcement attempted to keep the crowd under control, warning them that the disruption violated local noise ordinances.

At this point, PBD, who had delivered a keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference earlier that day, approached the crowd to question them about their motivations and their qualms with DOGE’s efforts to eliminate government waste.

The protesters, as it turned out, were decidedly less willing to have a conversation than Patrick was.

Despite efforts to engage in a conversation, the chanting continued to escalate, until one man attempted to spit in Patrick’s direction. The protester was immediately detained by nearby police.

“His spit hit the special agent in the back. Cops moved in very quickly. He was arrested instantly,” PBD wrote on X. “Bunch of cowards who have no clue how to have a discourse.”

Much to the chagrin of leftists like those gathered in DC, Elon Musk and the DOGE have been aggressively auditing federal agencies, discovering staggering amounts of waste and inefficiency. Most recently, an investigation into the US Treasury uncovered $4.7 trillion in untraceable payments, and initial surveys of Social Security data have suggested that certain individuals have been receiving payments for over 100 years.

This has led to widespread criticism of DOGE’s efforts from within the government, and many object to Musk’s vaguely defined role within the new administration. However, President Donald Trump has continued to support the department’s actions, even calling on Musk to become “more aggressive” in his cutbacks.
