At the Turning Point event in Detroit over the weekend, former President Donald Trump implied he will slash funding for the Ukraine war should he win the election, prior to even being inaugurated in January.

“I think Zelensky is maybe the greatest salesman of any politician that’s ever lived,” Trump said. “Every time he comes to our country, he walks away with $60 billion! … I will have that settled prior to taking the White House as President-Elect. We gotta stop it.”

Trump was evidently proud of the clip, as he “ReTruthed” it on his Truth Social account.

And yet Trump defended Zelensky for not telling the Congressional prosecution what they wanted to hear during their first impeachment attempt against him. “And I like him, you know, on the impeachment hoax number one, he was very good. He said No, the president didn’t threaten me at all.” He could’ve been a grand stander and said, “I was threatened.””

“So I like him! But he is the greatest salesman of all time … so now here’s the beauty. He just left four days ago with $60 billion, and he gets home, and he announces that he needs another $60 billion — it never ends! It never ends.”

As Valuetainment previously reported, G7 leaders from the United States and Europe have agreed to use interest and income from more than $260 billion in frozen Russian assets to form a $50 billion loan package for Ukraine, with the first disbursements expected this year, as part of a new strategy to support Kyiv against Russia.

This move, announced at the Group of Seven summit in Italy, will also include a bilateral security agreement between the US and Ukraine, aiming to bolster Ukraine’s defenses.
