Former U.S. Senator Kirsten Cinema is facing a shocking lawsuit for allegedly ruining a 14-year marriage. The suit, filed in North Carolina under the state’s “home wrecker” law, claims Cinema had an affair with her ex-bodyguard and Senate staffer, Matthew Al, during trips across the country and abroad.

Court papers allege that Cinema used campaign funds for trips and encouraged a psychedelic MDMA (“Molly”) experience with Al while he suffered from PTSD. She’s also accused of ethics violations tied to these trips.

The lawsuit seeks over $25,000 in damages and has reignited debate over ethics, power, and accountability in politics.
