Russia claimed on Sunday that the United States is responsible for the Ukrainian attack on the Crimean peninsula and has vowed retaliation to the US ambassador.

As Valuetainment previously reported, the Ukrainian military launched a strike on the Russian NIP-16 space tracking and communication center in Crimea on Sunday evening with ballistic missiles provided to them by the US, international sources confirm. One of the five missiles was intercepted by Russia, and shrapnel from the blast ended up killing five beachgoers including three children. A video surfaced of the shrapnel raining down on the vacationers. “Run!” one of them is heard yelling.

One of the deceased children was the nine-year-old daughter of the deputy mayor of a town in the north of Crimea. Russia claims 124 people were injured including 27 children. “The entire health care system has been mobilised. Doctors and medical staff are at work. The operating rooms are deployed,” said Mayor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

“Responsibility for the deliberate missile attack on the civilians of Sevastopol is borne above all by Washington, which supplied these weapons to Ukraine, and by the Kyiv regime, from whose territory this strike was carried out,” the Defence Ministry said.

“You should ask my colleagues in Europe, and above all in Washington, the press secretaries, why their governments are killing Russian children. Just ask them this question,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The tensions between the US and Russia have just escalated with this declaration, as Russia considers Crimea—which they annexed in 2014—to be part of their territory, despite the fact that most countries view it as Ukrainian territory.

In April, it was revealed that the US was delivering missiles of this kind to Ukraine. Locations of the attacks also include Zaozerne, Yevpatoriya, and Dunozlav, all in Crimea, which Russia claims as its own territory.

On May 30th, US President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to use American weapons to strike Russia to defend Kharkiv. Vladimir Putin then threatened to retaliate, saying at his annual economic forum in St. Petersburg: “That would mark their direct involvement in the war against the Russian Federation, and we reserve the right to act the same way.”

As Valuetainment previously reported, Russia sent warships to Cuba for a “military exercise” from June 12 to Jun 17. While Cuban and Russian officials referred to it as a military exercise, the timing of the event suggests further strategic purposes.
