Yesterday afternoon, a horrific set of explosions occurred at a hospital in Gaza, and the New York Times didn’t miss a beat to report on the event, automatically blaming Israel for the attack.

The news publication got absolutely obliterated on the internet from critics who called out the NYT for its ‘fake news’ and dangerous propaganda without yet knowing the facts. Whether the Hamas terrorist group misfired rockets or Israel performed a plotted airstrike was not confirmed before reporting.

The hashtag, “The NYT” began trending heavily on X, formerly Twitter, as users posted screen shots of the same NYT story on the explosions with different headlines changing by the hour.

One X user wrote: “The NYT keeps changing its headlines about the hospital bombing. First it was Israel’s fault, then they ditch that and say it was a “strike”, then “strike” is changed to a “blast”, then the death tolls change. The first photo is from the Free Press. Some journalism!”

Another user wrote:The NYT broke a poorly sourced, inflammatory propaganda piece as a major headline. Their gross negligence and blatant disregard for editorial standards led to global protests at Western embassies and the cancellation of crucial diplomatic visits with the US President.”

Another user noted that not only was the headline wrong, but the news source used a photo that NOT a hospital.

What is being reported from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is that a failed rocket launch “by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization hit the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City. IAF footage from the area around the hospital before and after the failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.” They proceed to share a video of the location.
