MSNBC opted not to air its flagship daily news program “Morning Joe” on Monday, reportedly out of concern for what the show’s notoriously left-leaning panelists would say about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

According to an inquiry from CNN, the broadcast was preempted with continued breaking news coverage of the shooting, preventing hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski from making “an inappropriate comment on live television that could be used to assail the program and network as a whole.”
