YouTube star MrBeast claims we has asked to join the adventurers on the Titanic-bound submersible but ultimately did not oblige. He shared a screenshot of a text on Twitter in which he was allegedly invited to take part in the doomed expedition “late this month”—which was likely the timeframe of Titan’s fatal voyage.
Born Jimmy Donaldson, the content creator tweeted on Sunday that he was offered a spot on a tour to view the Titanic shipwreck.”I was invited earlier this month to ride the Titanic submarine, I said no,” he said in the corresponding tweet. “Kind of scary that I could have been on it.”

While he failed to specify if the invitation was for the trip that resulted in the deadly implosion of the vessel, Donaldson shared a portion of the text conversation he appeared to have with someone who asked him to take part in the journey.
“Also, I’m going to the Titanic in a submarine late this month,” the person wrote. “The team would be stoked to have you along.”
Just days after it was announced that the five people aboard OceanGate’s sub had perished, the YouTuber revealed how he decided against the expedition.
Another YouTuber DALLYMYD, whose real name is Jake Koehler, shared footage of his own canceled journey with OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, who perished in the submersible. The clip exhibited events that took place “just days before the tragedy,” he stated.

“With the whole world watching the rescue efforts of the missing submarine around the Titanic, I thought I’d share my experience of Mission III just a few weeks ago,” Koehler said at the beginning of the video, which he posted on Friday.
“And if my dive wasn’t canceled, it could have been me inside that submarine today,” he reflected. Koehler added he wishes he “could go back in time and just tell them not to do it, but this is real life.”
Las Vegas businessman and billionaire, Jay Bloom was also eager to take part in the “bucket list” adventure with his 20-year-old son, Sean, who told PEOPLE they declined the trip as he warned his father that the “submarine cannot survive going that deep in the ocean.”
“That is a small submarine, with five people crammed inside,” Sean said. “It just felt super unsafe. Something was telling me this was not the move.”
