Malaysia’s government has agreed in principle to resume the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which disappeared in March 2014 with 239 people on board. The search will be conducted by Ocean Infinity, a US-based exploration firm, under a “no find, no fee” agreement, meaning they will only be compensated if the wreckage is found.
The new search area spans 15,000 sq km in the southern Indian Ocean, based on recent data analyses.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke emphasized the government’s commitment to providing closure to the families of those on board.
The search is slated to be finalized by early 2025, with a potential US$70 million fee if successful.
Previous searches, including a large-scale operation by Malaysia, Australia, and China, failed to locate the aircraft after covering extensive areas of the ocean.
