Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance asserted on Sunday that former President Donald Trump will veto any federal legislation imposing a nationwide abortion ban if re-elected.
Speaking to NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Vance emphasized Trump’s belief that abortion regulation should be left to individual states to avoid ongoing federal conflict.

However, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren criticized Vance’s claim, arguing that Trump and Vance’s administration could still restrict abortion rights through existing laws like the Comstock Act.

Vance’s statements come amidst intense debates and criticism from both pro-life advocates and abortion rights supporters as the 2024 election approaches.
