A large group of protesters took to the streets of Dublin, Ireland on Monday to denounce the Irish government’s open-border immigration policies. The demonstration—thought to be among the country’s largest anti-immigration rallies in recent memory—comes as Ireland, the United Kingdom, and other European nations experience an unprecedented surge of migrants from Africa and Asia, threatening to make native inhabitants a minority in their own homelands.
Beginning in the early afternoon, the crowd assembled in Dublin’s Garden of Remembrance in the north inner city, then marched down O’Connell Street before arriving at the lawn of the Custom House. Protesters chanted “Irish Lives Matter,” waved Irish flags, and carried signs with slogans like “Economic Migrants are not refugees” and “Ireland belongs to the Irish.”
While The Irish Times reported that only “several hundred people” were in attendance, video footage of the protest shows that this is likely a severe understatement.

Surprisingly, the protesters also lashed out against the leadership of the pro-Irish unification Sinn Fein party, accusing the Irish Republican Army-linked group of betraying their countrymen by embracing the European Union’s immigration policies.
“I think Sinn Féin have been exposed as an open borders mass immigration party,” Irish Freedom Party leader Hermann Kelly, one of the protest organizers, told GB News. “And now that leaves room for a nationalist party like the Irish Freedom Party, which believes in democratic self-determination for the Irish people.”
“Ireland has an opt-out on justice and home affairs so they can say no to the EU migration pact, for example,” he continued. “But because they want to be the best boys in the class and get a pat on the head from the real masters in Brussels, they would never say no to Brussels.”
Ireland, which has been one of the most pro-immigration countries in Europe, has seen an explosion of third-world migrants in recent years, with over 20 percent of the country’s population now being foreign-born. As a result of this aggressive demographic shift, the latest surveys now indicate that upwards of 80 percent of Irishmen think immigration rates are too high, and two-thirds believe their government is not in control of the country.

For many participating in the protest, the rally served as a defense of Irish cultural heritage from those attempting to suppress and replace the native population.
“I’m here for my children and I’m here for my grandchildren. I’m here to keep Ireland for the Irish and our Celtic race,” an elderly woman at the protest told a local reporter. “[And to keep] our culture, our traditions, and our Christian Catholic religion. I don’t want Ireland to become an Islam stronghold.”
According to historical studies, the Gaelic population of Ireland has inhabited the island for more than 10,000 years—and yet, even in the modern academic discourse surrounding “settler colonialism” and “cultural erasure,” the Irish are never granted the distinction of an “indigenous people group.”
As such, the Irish government has continued to welcome Asian, Middle Eastern, and African migrants in record numbers. At the same time, the United Kingdom has taken to offloading excess migrants onto Irish shores as its own immigration services are overrun. It is estimated that at least 80 percent of the migrants in Ireland arrive by way of the border with UK-controlled North Ireland. This has led to an unmanageable situation in which migrants have begun erecting garbage-strewn tent cities in the streets of Dublin and other urban centers, stretching safety net programs to the breaking point.
In addition to asylum seekers from Africa and Asia, Ireland is also harboring 100,000 refugees from Ukraine.
The last mass immigration protest in Ireland came late last year when Dubliners rioted and burned multiple cars and buses after an Algerian immigrant stabbed three five-year-old children and a teacher outside a local school.
