The historic trend continues: Americans become more conservative as they get older.

This is particularly important when it comes to political affiliations and the way that Americans vote on election day. Given the disappointing actions from both political parties as of late, the radical leftist take the win, as the Democratic party turned many millennials away from the affiliation, resulting in more votes going red.

This shift is likely to significantly affect who wins elections in 2024, and the years to come. According to the Wall Street Journal, one in six Americans is over the age of 65 – up from one in eight in the decade prior – while a lowered rate of births which began in 2008 will eventually affect a smaller pool of new, young voters. This shift is showing favor in more conservative voters.

Though certain publications like The Guardian and The Independent would like to have its readers believe that millennials are changing the game when it comes to remaining liberal even with age, a New York Times polling analyist previously reported millennials not the exception to the rule and are, in fact, moving more towards the conservative side.

The analysis also came as a rebuttal to an article from December 2022, where the Financial Times attempted to argue that “Millennials are Shattering the Oldest Rule in Politics,” claiming that generations of voters are no longer moving right as they age.

It is worth noting that younger voters have seen a pattern of political persuasion (and many times, misinformation) coming from professors projecting their personal political beliefs to their students – those beliefs usually being radically left.

With the rise of Americans going to social media for their “news,” every attractive story is being strategically shaped to be perceived as “activism” and “fighting for rights.” What younger Americans fail to do is outsource and research, ultimately echoing everything they hear online or from their teachers in school.

It has been a historic trend where Americans become more conservative as they get older.

But as the years go by, and these same Americans begin to feel the effects of poor economic policies, pro-war political parties, and divisive social tactics, younger generations begin to open their eyes, take off foreign flags from their Instagram profiles and change the way they vote in order to hopefully create a better quality of life for themselves and for their future families.
