On Wednesday’s episode of the PBD Podcast, Patrick Bet-David was joined by retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who served as both the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and the National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump. Together, they discussed the legacy of the Obama administration, the attacks against Donald Trump, America’s “endless wars,” and much more.

Here are some of the main takeaways from this episode:

1. “Don’t Trust Vladimir Putin or Michael Flynn” – Barack Obama’s Assessment of Michael Flynn

General Flynn served under multiple presidents during his lengthy military career, but his worst criticism came from former President Barack Obama. The two men never met—despite Obama appointing him to two different positions—but Obama reportedly passed on some advice to incoming President Donald Trump: “Don’t trust Vladimir Putin and don’t hire Michael Flynn.”

According to Flynn, this condemnation from Obama stems from a difference in character similar to the one between Obama and Trump. Flynn described himself as a man motivated by “faith, family, and love of country” and called Obama a “taker” who acquires power without any real accomplishments.

“Some people say ‘freedom isn’t free,’ but I say ‘freedom must be guarded,’” Flynn said. “The path to freedom is filled with hardship and sacrifice.”

Addressing the World Economic Forum’s plan for the future of the world, Flynn claimed the “Great Reset” strategy called for eight years of Obama and eight years of Hillary Clinton—but Trump got in the way.

2. “Narrative Assassination” – The Attacks on Donald Trump

As National Security Advisor to Donald Trump, General Flynn witnessed the attacks against the former president firsthand…and he also had some of those attacks directed against him.

Flynn described the ongoing political divide in the United States as a conflict between globalism and Americanism, and false labels thrown around by the media only further that conflict. “When they try to box us in, I call that ‘narrative assassination,’” Flynn said.

In an infamous meeting on January 5, 2017, members of the outgoing Obama administration and leaders of the Intelligence Community gathered in the White House to strategize about how to undermine the Trump administration. “Get at Flynn to get at Trump” was a main talking point of that meeting, leading to the investigation that removed Flynn as NSA.

“Politics isn’t a blood sport,” Flynn said. “It’s a death cult.”

3. “Fake, Fake, Fake” – The 2024 Candidates and the Need for Outside Leadership

In this episode, Patrick Bet-David is joined by retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who served as National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump.

While discussing the future of America, PBD asked for General Flynn’s opinion on the current batch of Republican presidential candidates—and Flynn believes the country trusts professional politicians far too easily.

According to Flynn’s assessment, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a “milquetoast” who has changed his stance on issues and Vivek Ramaswamy is well-spoken but lacks relevant accomplishments and experience.

However, former Vice President Mike Pence got the worst criticism in the form of a Seinfeld quote: “Fake, Fake, Fake.”

But with so many untrustworthy politicians vying for power, PBD asked the important question: Why aren’t more outside leaders and successful people stepping up to help fix the country?

And given the need for more leadership options, could we see General Flynn running for office in the near future?

4. “A+ for Participation, F for Winning” – Michael Flynn on America’s Endless Wars

Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and other escalating global conflicts, men like General Flynn are calling for an end to America’s endless wars. Without hesitation, Flynn declared that America absolutely should not be involved in Ukraine, calling the situation there “totally avoidable” if leadership had made peace a priority.

Based on his intelligence background, Flynn also weighed in on the assassination of Wagner mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, assessing the involvement of American interests in Russian politics. What did American intelligence agencies know about the hit? Were there other possible targets in Putin’s crosshairs at the time? And most importantly, was the infamous mercenary leader really taken out by the strike?
