Elon Musk’s social media platform X and cable news network News Nation are planning to hold town hall events with presidential candidates Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Jr., according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Axios. The campaign team of President Joe Biden has been invited but has not replied.

RFK Jr. and Trump have both agreed to separate live events in which they will be asked policy questions related to their platforms. They have not chosen dates yet.

“This will be interesting,” Musk said.

The events will be part of the media pair’s new series titled “The People’s Town Hall.” Locations have also not been decided.

The Biden campaign also declined to offer comment to Axios on the matter when asked.

Moderators will have control over which questions are asked, but X users will be allowed to submit questions ahead of time and during the live debates.

CEO of X Linda Yaccarino was reportedly the person who set it up, as she is rumored to have approached Nexstar, the parent company of News Nation, about the proposal. She aims to make X the home of the political process and democratic input.
